Muravera is the Sardinian resort par excellence which produces and tastes the best oranges and other citrus fruits. It is a very fertile area that is renowned for its abundance of citrus groves. Each year the festival of the oranges takes place in April that attracts many visitors. On the streets of the historic center there are some fly pitches where you can buy oranges, tangerines, grapefruits, lemons and clementines, and taste the local products.
It is an agricultural and tourist center located in the Sarrabus region in south-eastern Sardinia. At about 70 km far from the port and airport of Cagliari, it is bordered by the towns of Castiadas, San Vito and Villaputzu and includes the localities of Capo Ferrato, Colostrai, Costa Rei, Rei Feraxi and Piscina Rei. Its mild climate makes it a tourist destination even out of season. While multiplying its inhabitants during the summer for the massive flow of tourists, has the advantage of never being too busy as it has a very long coastline disseminated with breathtaking beaches.
The territory where it stands has a tremendous environmental value. On its back the land is hilly and embellished by a lagoon environment of four ponds: Feraxi, Colostrai, Salinas and San Giovanni. In front of it there are beautiful white beaches that are reflected on a the Tyrrhenian Sea. There are many of them, including that of Marina Rei, Piscina Rei, Colostrai, Capo Picci, Feraxi, Cala Sa Figu, Porto Pirastu and others, all united by the sloping sandy bottom, ideal for those who love diving and also for children.
The center of Muravera offers some glimpses of historical interest. We are talking about church of San Nicola di Bari, the former city hall at the end of ’800 next to the church, and the Portico Petretto also dating back to the ’800 being a connection between two prestigious residences. In Muravera there are shops, clubs, and restaurants. Several archaeological evidences scattered throughout the territory (eg the megalithic complexes of Piscina Rei and Cuili Piras with their numerous menhir stones), proving that the area has been inhabited since very ancient times. Along the coast there are also three towers of defense against pirate attacks dating back to 1600: Torre delle Saline, Torre dei dieci cavalli and Torre di Capo Ferrato.
Muravera is a places that meets the needs of all targets in terms of hospitality and is suitable for families with children. In its vast territory and in the territories nearby, there are many accommodating facilities, ranging from hotels to campsites of very high prestige by the sea.
Between these two kinds of accommodation there are also the guest houses and the farm holidays. The right alternative, particularly suitable for those who choose to stay for long periods, are the holiday homes in Sardinia. If you choose to rent a house in Costa Rei Sardinia there are many occasions either farer of closer to the sea. An example could be the Muravera Sardinia apartments, just three kilometres far from the sea, a newly built residential complex, developed on four levels and equipped with a lift. In this case there are solutions with four beds, bathroom and kitchenette, very cozy and comfortable, good value for money (starting from 170 euros per week!).

It’s not too late to travel to sardinia. Indeed there are various events throughout the island is worth attend, such as the Festival of San Michele in Alghero. A place that does not need much advertising, famous for its liveliness and Catalan influences, as well as beauty.
It is a destination that offers a warm welcome throughout the year, a city sized to tourists. It is very organized to accommodate a large number of visitors being able to count on a substantial number of accommodating facilities. Along with many hotels, there are farmhouses, bed and breakfast and houses for rent. Villas and apartments in Alghero are available in different sizes, with the option to choose for example between a holiday house in alghero old town, or an apartment on alghero beach sardinia.
Alghero, it is situated in the north-western coast of Sardinia and it is well connected to the mainland via the airport of Fertilia, not far away from the port of Porto Torres. It is set in a natural environment of great value that includes the Natural Park of Porto Conte and the Marine Reserve of Capo Caccia-Isola Piana. The old town is its flagship. Protected by huge towers and sixteenth-century old walls, it is a maze of picturesque alleys. It was founded by the noble Genoese family, the Doria’s in the early twelfth century. It was later conquered by the Catalan-Aragonese and nowadays still keeps the language and the traditions.
In the beautiful setting of the old town of the city is renewed again this year the appointment with the feast of St. Michael, patron of the city, 26 to 29 September. This feast having a strong religious character is much awaited by its inhabitants. Fireworks, music, art, culture, food and wine support the religious feast making this four days of interest suitable for tourists and for the inhabitants of Alghero as well.

With an average temperature of 17,5°C and more than 300 days of sunshine a year, Villasimius is the destination to reach for blus skies, sunshine and seaview.

From Cagliari, Villasimius is easily reachable taking the Leonardo da Vinci road, which runs alongside the south east coast, that allows every tourist to admire some of the most amazing landscapes of Sardinia, such as the beach of Mari Pintau (Painted sea) and its emerauld glints.
Besides, the night offers a lot of fun with some of the best discos in the surroundings, and in some case, tourists can easily reach them by foot from their holiday apartment in Villasimius.

Welcome to Ogliastra, a special land and still little known and uncrowded. It’s a wild corner of the Mediterranean, where the mountain meets the sea, creating landscapes and unique play of colours that will leave you speechless. It seems that here mother nature gives the best of itself, creating a paradise to be discovered by foot, by horse, off-road, mountain bike or diving in its beautiful waters.

The territory extends along the side of central-eastern area of Sardinia, nestled between the mountains and the sea. From the hills of vineyards one gently climbs to the summits of Gennargentu, encountering varied landscapes of unparalleled beauty.

The coasts are wonderful jewels. Starting from the north one will discover small coves trapped between the sea and the rock reachable only by boat, such as Cala Luna, Cala Sisine, Cala Mariolu and Cala Goloritzé. Further south there are long beaches such as the Lido di Orrì, Cea, Marina Barisardo, to name but a few, and the amazing Red Rocks.

From the historical and archaeological point of view, the whole place is littered with Nuraghi, Domus de Janas, Sacred Sources, Tombs of the Giants and Menhirs, some 500 coastal towers built to defend the territory. Tortolì, one of the most famous cities on the eastern coast of the island is situated in a vast plain that stretches towards the sea.

The major advantage of the city lies in its scenic beauty, with its wonderful coastline that surprises for its fine white sand, for its crystal clear waters and the special red porphyry cliffs. Numerous accommodating facilities such as holiday resorts, hotels, holiday rentals and camp-sites located in some of the most beautiful coves of the coast, can host thousands of tourists.

Arbatax is the hamlet of Tortolì whose pond separates one from the other. This pond is one of Sardinia’s most plentiful fishing grounds and rich bird life. It is a small fisherman village located at the foot of a hill on top of which stands the lighthouse of Capo Bellavista. It also homes one of the most important ports of the island.

This town is particularly famous for the “Red Rocks”, which are located in the harbour area, considered a veritable natural monument. In this fascinating and unique location for its chromatic effects, a great musical event takes place every year: “Red Rock and Blues,” which animates the summers of Ogliastra with guests from around the world.

A holiday in Arbatax Sardinia and Tortolì will also be delighted by the local cuisine that offers a great variety of fish specialties and one of the most tasteful mullet of the island. The traditions but also the kitchen are deeply rooted and tied to the agro-pastoral products of the land with “culurgiones” and meat dishes.

For comfortable holidays one can choose between several Arbatax holiday houses, Tortolì and in the surrounding area, all located within walking distance of the most beautiful beaches. Here are some possible solutions:
Casa Sole, in San Gemiliano
Villa Ambra and Villa Aurora, in Girasole
Villa Belvedere in Porto Frailis.

A destination different from the usual postcard from sardinia (beautiful post cards of course) and the usual landings, San Vero Milis is a location, placed in a short distance from the sea, far away from the typical landscapes of the Costa Smeralda and the north-eastern Sardinia in general, both geographically and from the point of view of tourism and landscape. From a tourist point of view it offers a very diverse sphere ranging from sports to arts, nature and typical cuisine.

San Vero Milis, lying on the plain of Oristano (western Sardinia) has a primarily agricultural activity, although some villages such as a Capo Mannu, Mandriola, Putzu Idu and Sa Mesa Longa, S’Arena Scoada, Sa Rocca Tunda, Su Pallosu are placed directly on the sea. Its appearance is characterized by low houses and some noble halls. It stands for its beauty, as often happens in the villages of Sardinia, the church of Santa Sofia having in its baroque facade and dome some baroque patterns. San Vero Milis is famous for its wattle activities that give birth to beautiful baskets made of swamp grass as well as for the Vernaccia wine, a fine local wine.

San Vero Milis is only 14 m above sea level, but enjoys a wonderful panorama. To the north you can see the beach of Is Arenas, the largest in Sardinia, with a pine tree wood behind. Towards the inner areas one can see the tops of Montiferru. To the west lies the island of Mal di Ventre, while to the south, there are the cliffs of Capo Mannu which mark the beginning of the Peninsula of Sinis (marine protected area). The limestone cliffs of Capo Mannu, of an odd yellowish color, is home to two Spanish tower, that of Sa Mora and Capo Mannu, and the lighthouse.

Along the costal area there are some beautiful white sandy beaches. The peculiarity of this coast is the wind. Indeed it is characterized by a strong mistral that generates huge waves that attract many surfers and windsurfers. That’s not all! The characteristics of the sounding and of the crystal water make the area particularly suitable for scuba diving and photography.

Nearby there are several wetlands: Salina Manna, Is Benas and Sale Porcus. The latter is one of the most important wetlands in Sardinia for the presence of a very high number of migrating birds. The natural oasis, the most important part of the Sinai Peninsula during the winter is populated by about 4,000 pink flamingos, as well as cranes, wild geese, cormorants and mallards.

In this territory there are important archaeological ruins such as the tombs Serra Is Araus and numerous Nuraghe including nuraghe S’Uraki, a vast complex of considerable importance in the island. It was also discovered an ancient Punic village. Nearby you can reach the archaeological Phoenician area of Tharros.

As in Oristano takes place Sartiglia, San Vero Milis also has a carnival tradition tied to horses. It is called Sa Cursa de sa Loriga and consists in pearcing an iron ring, from a running horse. This iorn ring until a few years ago could fbe found on the walls of the houses (it was used to tie horses and donkeys to the houses).

Spending your holidays in this part of the island can be an interesting idea to learn about the regional situation or approaching for the first time the Sardinian territory. It is not an area full of hotels but it is possible to rent houses in san vero milis sardinia and find some hotels and camp sites or areas equipped for campers. There are beautiful villas surrounded by nature at a short distance from beaches like S’Arena Scoada (Villa Oristano 1) and Mandriola (Villa 2 Oristano, Apartment Oristano 1 and Apartment Oristano 2).

The summer 2010 is still far away, but the desire for the sea is endless. Someone probably is already dreaming about where to spend the next sardinia holiday by the sea. Apart from the advertised Sardinia and the sought-after North Eastern area, that is to say the Costa Smeralda and the coasts of Gallura, in general, there are many other fascinating places to discover, much wilder and less touristy. There is no doubt that reaching many parts of the island is not simple and the advice is always to rent a car to be free to nose into the coast and the inlands.

Renting a house in gonnesa sardinia is a good solution for those who decide to visit the south-western area of Sardinia, called Sulcis Iglesiente. This place is at walking distance from a very evocative coast, but not only. The land is strewn with old mining areas, such as the abandoned mining village of Monte Onixeddu and Seddas Moddizzis, the Villaggio Normanno, the mines of San Giovanni inside the cave of Santa Barbara, and also some archaeological witnesses of value, the Villaggio Nuragico Serici, indicating the importance of this area since ancient times. Moreover, the country is surrounded by green hills where one can make a lot of walking, cycling and horse riding.

Beach lovers can opt for apartments near the sea in Gonnesa Sardinia, just near the beach of Porto Paglia, one of three beaches of Gonnesa area. The beaches are actually linked to each other by forming a 3 km long golden sand beach: from south to north there are the beautiful Porto Paglia with the nice tonnara (a maze of nets), the Spiaggia di Mezzo and Fontanamare. The beaches are set in a spectacular bay, the Golfo del Leone, so named because of the strength of the sea, very prone to mistral winds that create waves ideal for surfing. On each side the beach is closed by high cliffs overlooking the blue sea. On its back there is a nice shady pine forests. between Fontanamare and Masua, along the panoramic road one discovers the beautiful profile of the rock of Pan di Zucchero. Heading to the south, along the road leading to Porto Scuso, the views are beautiful and during clear days you can see the islands of San Pietro and Sant’Antioco.

At the foot of Mont’Albo, Siniscola faces onto the beaches and the cliffs of Sardinia’s eastern coast. It is the high Barony region in the Province of Nuoro and Siniscola is one of the major towns. It has always been the gate between Barbagia and the costal areas of the province. Thanks to a varied territory going from the sea to the mountains, Siniscola has gained ground in the tourist panorama as a valuable destination for holidays in Sardinia in terms of natural interest.

Today it is a place that shows an elegant old town full of nineteenth-century buildings of a certain importance from the point of view of arts with a wide range of tourism and leisure facilities. The holiday houses are an important entry in the accommodation system and they are chosen by most part of tourists. Of different sizes they meet the requirements of those traveling with family or friends and of those who love to organize a holiday sized to their own needs. At the tourist’s disposal there are several types of houses such as siniscola sardinia sea view two-roomed houses or three-roomed houses by the sea in siniscola sardinia or apartments in Siniscola Sardinia.

The area offers a great variety of natural sceneries, ranging from limestone mountains, just like the Monte Albo, and hilly areas cultivated with vineyards and citrus groves or used for grazing, to the coastal lagoons. The coast is mostly sandy with broad beaches and a cristal-clear sea.

Its 30 km of coast are undoubtedly the main attraction point of Siniscola. 12 km of this coast come with beautiful white sandy beaches. La Caletta is one of the seaside resorts of the area. Here, alongside various tourist accommodation and a long beach, an equipped beach, a sailing school, diving and surfing courses . The beach of La Caletta connects to the south to Saint Lucia, a small village of fishermen from Ponza, where there is a sixteenth-century Aragonese Tower and several large bays with pine woods behind.

Farther south there are, first, the beautiful “comfit beach” and then the white dunes of Capo Comino, one of the wildest extraordinary natural landscapes of the island. Along the cliffs of red porphyry one can reach Berchida, the jewel of the eastern coast of Sardinia with an incredible cristal clear sea safeguarded by a protected area.

Among some other attractions there are several natural caves, such as those of Sa Prejone e’ s’Orcu, Duar Vuccas, and Sa Conca’ e Locoli, both due to the limestone rocks in the Monte Albo and Mount Latu. Monte Albo (1100 m) is rich in forests, springs and beautiful scenic areas where you can go trekking, hiking and horseback riding. Its rock walls are very interesting to those who practice free climbing.

Golfo Aranci is a popular seaside resort overlooking the enchanting sea of the Gulf of Olbia, between the Costa Smeralda and the Olbia City, the provincial capital. It is the second port of northern Sardinia for passenger traffic, after Olbia. As it is known, Gallura, is a privileged destination for tourism in sardinia for the beauty of its landscapes, for the tourist accommodation offer, for its worldliness mainly due to the presence of the nearby Costa Smeralda, Mediterranean home of the Vips.

The town of Golfo Aranci, in addition to being a tourist resort, has always been devoted to fishing. This dual core is reflected in the urban planning: on the shore lies the village of fishermen, the oldest part, characterized by colorful houses and fish shops, and close to it there is the new area, still growing because of new tourist facilities. The growing element is the field of the extra-hotel facilities such as guest houses and holiday houses in golfo aranci sardinia. Holiday houses by the sea in Golfo Aranci Sardinia, apartments with pool in Golfo Aranci Sardinia , and much more, are examples of the wide offer.

A very good reason for a holiday in Golfo Aranci is the beauty of the sea, both in the north and in the south of the town. Starting from the old town heading to Olbia there are a lot of small coves and white sandy beaches. North of Golfo Aranci there is Capo Figari where there are some beautiful and solitary coves and also the Golfo di Marinella, surrounded by the Mediterranean vegetation, with its large white sandy beaches followed by Porto Rotondo.

A Golfo Aranci there are loads of opportunities to by local products. There are many activities to enjoy the beauty of the area, including hiking, water sports and scuba diving.

Oristano is a province rich in resources still untouched, alive and well valued. The offer is varied, ranging from culture, art, archeology, gastronomy, traditions and nature. Its territory gives you many opportunities for making many tourist experiences according to one’s taste. This wants to be an invitation to discover this part of Sardinia, which does not want to develop mass tourism, such as in other parts of the island. Its will is to promote, encouraging and stimulating niche tourism such as sports tourism and those linked to traditions as well. This way of thinking is rewarded, from the point of view of the extension of the seasonal tourism, ensuring a a tourist flow bearable in summer as well.

There are many many places to stay, each with its own range of accommodation. On this side of the island, there are only a few big hotels and luxury hotels as much as the holiday houses, bed and breakfasts and farmhouses, with some exceptions of very high quality such as the Is Arenas Golf and Country Club The hotel is located in “Is Arenas” area, in Narbolia, and not by chance.

Immersed in the very sweet nature of Sinis, between cultivated fields, lagoons and nuraghi, Narbolia is well-placed to enjoy both the beauty of the sea and the beauty of its typical inland. Located at the foot of the mountains of Santulussurgiu, about 60 m above sea level, it has a territory that extends from the slope of a hill up to the plains and the sea with the famous beach of Is Arenas. It is a small country that retains an authentic old town where one can see beautiful murals decorating the walls of the houses. Going towards the countryside there are about 30 finding, including nuraghi and tombs of the giants.

Apart from the above-mentioned hotel complex, which boasts a beautiful golf course where races are held and one can practice, an interesting solution for a stay in this area is the narbolia sardinia holiday houses, combining low prices with the privacy of a private home. The better placed houses are found in the vicinity of the beach of Is Arenas, such as the is arenas apartment sardinia and villa oristano 3 sardinia.

“Is Arenas” is one of the most beautiful and long beaches in the province of Oristano, surrounded by the largest dunes of the island. This kind of desert was reaforested with pines and acacia trees to stop the dunes from advancing around the first decades of the ’900. In some coves of the beach you can admire a pure white sand consisting of grains of rice and crystal clear clean water.

On the back of the beach rise the wooded peaks of Montiferru. In the North S’Archittu closes this long beach. It is a stone arch carved by the sea, while to the south you can admire Capo Mannu (famous spot for surfing), the beginning of Sinis Peninsula (Marine Protected Area). On the beach there are several useful services such as an access for the disabled people, campers, campground, a restaurant and a bar. It is ideal for windsurfing.

Sardinia gives the chance of spending one’s holidays in several locations going from the sea, to the countryside to the mountains. This period is still suitable for sea holidays and is probably among the most captivating from some points of view. In fact after the feast of the Assumption (August 15th) the majority of people starts working again so some interesting places, firstly the beaches, are less crowded. The weather is still hot, but in Sardinia a pleasant mild wind always blows. Moreover, the low season starts and prices are much cheaper than the previous weeks.

The uncertainty as to the place where to go is understandable since there are very numerous wonderful locations to be visited. Spending Santa Teresa di Gallura holidays could be a nice idea, seeing that from August 27th to 31st it is going to be the location of the 9th Musica sulle Bocche jazz music festival, a touring festival passing through the most picturesque and important sites of this wonderful locality which also represents a good tool for enhancing this area and its beauties.

This little town can be easily reached from the main ports and airports of northern Sardinia. It is less than one hour by car from the port and airport of Olbia, a little more than 90 minutes from the port of Porto Torres and about two hours from the airport of Alghero.

Santa Teresa di Gallura holiday houses, available in different sizes, are a great alternative to hotels and campings. There are apartments in the center of the village, such as Apartments Santa Teresa Centro, but also close to the beaches (Rena Bianca, baia Santa Reparata, Valle della Luna are among the most famous), such as Residence Baia Santa Separata Forte Cappellini or Case Vacanze Santa Teresa di Gallura, which is 200 m from Rena Bianca beach.

The location of Santa Teresa is enviable: it is on the north head of Sardinia, it gives onto Bocche di Bonifacio Strait and from here it is possible to catch the ferries that daily connect Sardinia with Corsica (France). The settled area extends on a rocky plateau, 44m above sea level, jutting into the strait, on an indented coastline characterized by granitic outcrops. On its right border the natural inlet called Porto Longonsardo is found, while on its left is the incredible white Rena Bianca beach. The Longosardo tour, built in the 16th century during the Aragonese age, stands on the rocky promontory giving onto the sea and from there a wonderful panorama can be enjoyed.

Capo Testa is worth visiting: it is a reef connected to the mainland by a strip of sand and that can be reached through a scenic route on Colba and Santa Reparata bays. In the Mediterranean scrub in the area until the lighthouse of Capo Testa it is possible to see granite quarries, both the modern and the ancient used by the Romans.
